Sorry if this is covered elsewhere, but I am working my way through years of documentation and forum posts and have not yet found a clear answer.

Is it the case that IL-2: 1946 has only one RAF campaign (the one in Singapore)? I am wondering whether I am misreading the options, or something.

I played the original IL-2 so long ago I remember little, but I suppose I was expecting more campaigns/missions in this compilation of IL-2 expansions. Am I missing something?

I believe there is one dynamic campaign for the RAF, RAAF, RNZAF, and RN. There are also single stand alone missions for the RAF - you can also fly Spit Mk. Vs for the Russians in some missions if that's what you're after :).

IL-2 is very focused on the Eastern/Pacific fronts in terms of its campaigns and missions, hence the small number of campaigns relative the USSR/Germany/etc ... for the British and the focus of even the British campaigns being on the Pacific front. However, there are a lot of campaigns - even from a lot of the smaller countries that fought in WW2 that don't usually get represented. Once the expansions are combined there are quite a few more campaigns than there were in the original game:

The makers of IL-2 did recently come out with a new game called IL-2: Cliffs of Dover (however, it is a new game with a new game engine, so not an expansion of the earlier IL-2 games) which covers the Battle of Britain era. Unfortunately early reviews indicate the game was released in a very buggy state. I don't know the current level of stability of the game and how the patching is going since I don't own it myself.

It's starting to come back to me that I mostly flew Russian planes, and of course the Pacific stuff is new. Thanks for the reply!

Happy hunting!
Battle of Britain II: Wings of Victory is also worth taking a look at.

It is an enhanced version of Rowan's Battle of Brittain and can be bought online very cheap, I bought mine for 5 quid or so and it came with 3 other simulators, although my BoB 2 misses the video sequences.
It also has very good support, now I play it with 2.11 patch, but soon 2.12 will come out with a lot of enhancements.
The only disadvantage is that it has no multiplayer, but for me that is not a problem at all.
I really hope GOG gets this game too
BOB II has been known to have SERIOUS issues with Windows Vista, 7 and 8. They have an official notice on the game's download page.
