When I click on the desktop icon, which says IL2, it launches a splash page showing "Aces Expansion Pack" on the left, and "Pacific Fighters" on the right, with no apparent way to choose from among them. It then quickly launches Pacific Fighters. There appears to be no way to get into IL2 games. Similarly, when I downloaded the manual, only the Pacific Fighters manual opened up. Probably, hopefully, I've just overlooked something minor, but after dozens of attempts to download this game without corruption, it finally downloads, and now it appears incomeplete. Frustrating.

Running Windows 7 64 bit, tried using compatibility mode. Troubleshooting steps Gog provides are a nightmare of complexity and pretty much beyond me.....it's like telling you that you have to get a PhD in Astrophysics, learn to build a spaceship, and fly to another planet, when all you wanted was to go to the corner store for a quart of milk.....if it's this hard, it's dishonest even to offer this game.

I own the IL-2 1946 DVD and the GoG version. They are both exactly alike. Once on the control panel, you have the Corsair background of Pacific fighter, but you have both games installed as one.

In quick mission builder, you should be able to select maps for bother the Pacific and for European Theaters of War, and for the airplane selection you will have listed all available planes to fly from Europe and the Pacific.

The manual and keyboard hot sheet is from Pacific fighters, but that is as it comes from the DVD also. I guess with Pacific Fighters being the last individual installment in the series, that it was the manual that was used.

I am not sure which Version of IL GOG has currently available, the last one I have downloaded was for patch version 4.10m. Currently, those online either fly patch version 4.10.1m or they are flying with mods using patch version 4.09m.

So, to fly online you might need to patch up to 4.10.1m at least. Hopefully in a month or so, mod UltraPack 3.0 will be released for 4.10,1m
