I own the 1946 DVD, It installs but won't start at my win 7 (64bit) system. EVERYTHING ELSE works! even program's games that didn't work under my vista (32bit) setup.
In pure frustration I bought the GoG version. The installers starts... after a time +/- 1/3 of the installation it stops and gives an error. See the attachment!!
Any help plz! I'm going nuts... I wanna play my favorite sim!!
p.s. Yes I'm the admin and gave all the files permission etc etc

Hi,
Are you running the installer as admin ? (i mean the setup.exe itself, not the windows account you're using)
Your AV isn't interfering with the install process ?
Also, if you had tried to install another version of IL2, make sure you remove it completely before trying to install gog's version. I see you're not installing to default dir, so maybe there were some old files already in your IL2 folder and that's what's causing the problem.
If it still doesn't work, maybe try to download the installer again just in case ?

I'm guessing you are running vista...
If so, do NOT install to default directory!
There is something whack about, don't quite remember... something about
there being two "program files" folder.
Just create a "C:\Games\" where you install IL2. (I.e, "C:\Games\IL2-Sturmovik\")
This has solved at least one Vista issue for my friends.
Hope it helps you... See you online! :)
