I have the 1.0 installer complete. And I have a 1.0.1.5 patch exe from GOG.

Meantime, I notice now there is a 2.0.0.6 installer which I am presently downloading (though I have no idea what is different about this one vs. the 1.0 installer I already had). Why is there a 2.x installer anyway?

Then there is the downgrade installer. This I've read about and understand what it is for.

So, I guess I use the new installer and save the downgrade for a rainy day if I want to try mods that require 4.10. But the thing I don't understand is do I need the 1.0.1.5 patch exe still? Do you run that against an install done with the 2.0.0.6 installer when you finish installing?

Should I just stick with my 1.0 installer?

Should I jump out of a plane and give up? lol

The 1.0.1.5 patch was for those users who had the old 1.0 installer and didn't want to re-download the entire thing in order to get the latest patched version of IL-2. If you are going to be using the 2.0 installer than you do NOT need the 1.0.1.5 patch as that has every latest possible patch already in it.

If you already have the 1.0 installer, just download the patch and you're golden :D.

edit: I realize this can get a bit tricky, but we didn't want to take the risk of removing the earlier patch in case someone who still had the old 1.0 installer just wanted a quick patch-up of the game.
