Just started playing IWD II again though now I'm playing it on Win10. Unfortunately, there is menu lag, and just general lag within the game. It's pretty annoying.

First of all I had to get rid of ddraw because the game won't run on Win10 if it is in the folder (let me know if there is a solution to this that fixes it, and changing the resolution in config did not help).
I can't run the ddraw fix because I get an error.
Secondly, I've tried compatibility mode, and run as admin; doesn't work.
Tried changing various settings in config, didnt work though maybe Iz didn't hit the sweet spot.
Also I play in window mode.
As well, I tried the force direct draw emulation, and that didn't change anything.

Please help, would really like to play this game without the lag. There's got to be a fix. Thanks.

Think I've fixed it ...
I took the DDWRAPPER and in the config file I set the following to 1
BltMirror
FakeVsync
ForceDirectDrawEmulation
NoVideoMemory

Originally I simply set it BltMirror to 1 per instructions but fiddling with the rest seemed to work.
No lag in item menu or in game. Pretty good.
