I am a newbie here. Sorry to ask a newbie question.

I've got my thief to level 10 before dual class to a mage (Necromancer).

Now I can't use her detect trap and sneak skills. It is not showing on the UI.

Is this normal?

This is normal for dual classing, which is different from multi-classing. Your primary class (thief) is unavailable to you *until* your secondary class reaches one level above, ie. level 11. Once your necromancer reaches level 11 you will regain your thief class, but your thief class will no longer progress.
