My party is in Kuldahar right now and I just got the quest for the Heartstone Gem. There is a barbarian type NPC in one of the houses and I believe he is the one that begins the HoW quest/expansion.

I don't think my party is ready for this quest yet, but when do you think is a good time to do it?

And I would also like to know when it's a good idea to start Trials of The Luremaster?

After the end battle import your characters which were auto-exported and start a new HoW only game.
After finishing HoW start a new HoW only game and with the characters which were auto-export at the end of HoW and start TotL immediately.

If you want harder expansions reload an earlier save.

Ok thanks for clearing that up. It's been so long since I last played Icewind Dale that I forgot. I was just wondering why I would meet this NPC so early that I thought maybe HoW should be played before finishing main campaign.
