IwubCheeze: It comes at level 12, so quite a bit later in the game than we'd like. I've never tried an IWD2 playthrough with reliance on bashing locks though so I'm afraid I can't say if it's a viable strategy.
I did this in my most recent playthrough. I had no problem opening every lock I encountered with a maximum strength half-orc barbarian, although there were a handful of locks towards the end of the game that required several attempts to open. I also had a wizard invest as much as possible in disable device to get me through the traps. Again, there were a handful that took a couple attempts.

Given how IWD2 inexplicably nerfs the Rogue's sneak attack, I'd say it's worth the inconvenience to ditch them from your party lineup.
Don't forget that there are other ways to boost your strength. For instance, there's the cleric spell Draw Upon Holy Might.

In one playthrough I simply let a Monk scout ahead and set off all the traps.
If I remember correctly, he always survived the effects - except for those nasty wall traps in the Yuan-ti temple.

It was a small party though, so he was over-leveled. Not sure if it would be viable with a 6 person party.

Thanks for the heads up here. Looks like I'll be making some adjustments to my party and giving this a try :)
30 strength is enough to bash all the important locks.
