Hi guys.
I just bought Icewind Dale today after playing it once years ago, installed it, and went to play, but when I get to the title screen everything goes weird. The movies run fine, the graphics and sound are all fine, the mouse is responsive, it's not frozen or laggy in any way, it just goes...weird. I've attached a picture of what the main menu looks like. All the options bring up the proper screens except, predictably, create game, which crashes the program. Unfortunately, I have only a rudimentary understanding of computers, so it's entirely possible that there's an incredibly simple fix for this. I went through an older post about the game's compatibility with Windows 7 (which I'm running) and tried a lot of the things there, but none of them worked. Anyone got any advice?

I'm having this same problem. I bought the game back when that D&D promo was going on and waited to install it until I got my new laptop. I'm also running windows 7, and I get to the same create game screen where it asks me if I want to create a full game or "expansion only" and when I hit done it crashes.
For some reason the movie won't run and when I start the game after creating my characters the screen goes black and shrinks to a small black square. Anyway to fix it?
Hey on the shortcut right click it and go to properties. Then make sure it runs on adminstrator. It work for me.
