My party is in the Troll caves. level 2 where there is a stony rubble area leading to a narrow funnel-like passage that opens into a large chamber filled with Trolls and priests. I have been battling this fight for days trying all kinds of strategies to live through the fight, but usually I am over whelmed.
Full frontal attack almost works best, but I have tried luring single or a few Trolls up into the narrow area to kill them off singly, but the priests show up to hold most of my party for easy slaughter. I have cast fireball (my Bard is only party member with this spell, and only one spell) , sent summoned monsters, tried to attack the priests with silence or hold or arrows, magic and otherwise. but I cannot beat all the bad guys.
Appreciate a tip or two to get past this area.
Party; Fighter, Berserker. Bard, Ranger/Cleric, Mage, Fighter/Thief .

I don't think I've reached that spot yet, but my strategy with priests is to lure them to a narrow area into Web and Grease and then use archers and mages to to kill them quickly. Silence and Hold never work reliably for me. Chromatic Orb is good for stunning them, and Sunscorch blinds them. Stand back or around a corner so that they can't easily target you. Doom from a Cleric helps.

I use my frontline fighters to slow down the trolls, and have the mage stand to one side and use Lance of Disruption on them. Slings help to damage them when they are at range. High strength helps.
