So I finally started Icewind dale over again, this time with the enhanced edition. I have owned this game in various forms since it first came out and have still not finished it.

My Party this time around consists of the follows. currently starting dragon's eye.

Dwarf - Male - Dwarven Defender (Fighter)

Half-orc - Male - Priest of Talos (Cleric) melee

Halfling - Female - Fighter/Thief

Elf - Male - Archer (Ranger)

Human - Male - Avenger (Druid)

Elf - Male - Wild Mage (Wizard)

This is my first time playing with the enhanced edition.

Remember to save frequently, especially since you are using a wild mage; you never know when a wild surge could screw you over. Then again, wild surges sometimes work to your advantage, and some of the effects are quite funny.

P.S. If you get any good wild surges (or any wild surges that create hilarious effects, or that happen to occur at an interesting time), feel free to post about them.
Looks like a good party to play. Have fun !

The first time I had a wild Surge I was crashed by a Cow when casting magic missles.
Is there any remaking new characters during a play through. My build performs well, but I wanted to craft it in a role-play-theme kind of way. But I'm at the very end of Chapter 1 and I don't think I want to restart.

For the Enhanced Edition, you can use multiplayer to do this. Do the following:
1. Copy the save into the multiplayer save folder.
2. Load the save in multiplayer. On the character arbitration screen, remove the old character and add the new character. (Note that, when you remove a character this way, I believe the character's equipment goes as well.) Then save the game.
3. Copy the new save back into the singleplayer save folder.
4. (Optional) use a cheat to set the new character's XP to an appropriate value.

Note that, in the original (non-EE) versions, steps 1 and 3 are unnecessary, as those versions give you access to character arbitration in single player. This is also true of Icewind Dale 2, though note that skipping step 4 can result in you getting too much XP.

Ah, I'll give that a try.
