Do Priest/paladins of Ilmater and Bane get ability score up in IWD2 or in IWD1?

What party do I need to get most xp in IWD2

So- someone of small statue - like halfling
someone with int, ch and con 16+
someone in skills in alchemy
paladin

maybe Paladin/Cleric of Ilmater and Dreadmater of Bane....

so ideal party will surely look like this
Drow bard with max int and cha and skills in alchemy
Half-orc barbarian with max con
halfling rogue/wizard
Dreadmaster of Bane
Paladin of Ilamter?
last spot will be - ...

A party of level 1 characters, who do not level up until level 30.

More practical is a party where one character stays level 1, and the rest of the party levels up normally. As long as you keep the level 1 character safe, you will get significantly more experience than if everyone leveled up immediately on earning enough XP; note that the extra XP gained this way is likely to hurt game balance and make the game too easy.

Thing is, XP gains are based on your average party level, so having a character bring down the average will cause you to gain significantly more XP. I would actually consider this to be a significant design flaw in the game (which is due to partially adopting 3e XP rules (which were not designed with a computer game where you can choose not to have a level balanced party in mind), but yet not adopting the rule against gaining multiple levels at once).

In other words, XP gain is broken to the point where the answer to the question you asked doesn't make much sense.
You get me all wrong. I want to finish ALL quest and got ALL 'quest' xp. For one area you really need somone of small statue to gain xp - otherwise you will miss it.

This makes absolutely no sense. What has physical stature to do with XP?
"If the Crystal Golem has left its lair, the locked door in the north-east tunnel will be open. This leads to the side of the Ice Temple, where you will find a very small entrance. A small member of your party might be able to squeeze inside and force the door open, allowing the rest of the party through. It leads to the Abishai Den on the first level of the Ice Temple - just be sure to fully heal everyone before you enter!"

I really dislike the systems where XP you receive adjusts with you level (I have similar disdain to auto-level of enemies). It makes many of the later areas really boring in IWD2 where you have meaningless fights that earn you no or almost no XP. That's one of the reasons I find IWD2 the worst out of all Infinity engine RPGs.

While I haven't played IWD2 in a long while I had also this (subjective) feeling that this adjustment of XP is pretty aggressive so even fights that were tough for my party yielded almost no XP.
