Hi guys, I've settled on the following party for my second run through of the game:

Paladin
Ranger/Cleric
Fighter/Druid
Fighter/Thief
Fighter/Mage
Bard

I'd like to have two dual class characters and two multi-class ones. I'm thinking of going dual class for the Fighter/Mage and I understand Fighter/Thief is the best multi-class combo in the game. So I'm left with the remaining two choices but haven't made up my mind... Any suggestions as to which of those four you would multi/dual class?

Thanks.

I'd dualclass the fighter/druid. As dualclass fighter he can get higher weapon specialization than the multiclass while the ranger has the 2 star limit no matter if dual- or multiclass.
The druid also needs less XP to reach the medium levels, so late dualclassing will be over faster.

I recommend dualing the fighter to druid at level 7 (3 stars in scimitar and sling), but level 3 and 9 are also good choices.
And you would agree with dualing the Fighter/Mage as well?

I can go with a half-elf Ranger/Cleric, although I'm having a hard time deciding whether to make the Fighter/Thief a halfling or elf... The halfling makes most sense to me role-playing wise but I would be forfeiting his +1 to missile weapons and slings; I just can't see a Fighter/Thief using them.

EDIT: Do elves get +1 with ALL types of swords and bows? I thought it was just long swords and long bows...

I'd dual the mage as well. Multiclasses don't get the very high level spells.
I'd make the fighter/thief a gnome so (s)he can start with 18/00 strength and wear the helm Conlan sells. Halflings are even better on the long run but it takes a long time until you find an item which sets strength high while worn.

I don't think the game makes a difference between weapons of the same proficiency in regard to elf bonus. I don't like elves that much, raise dead doesn't work on them, they get less con and and the small races get saving throw bonuses. after some level ups thac0 should be so good that +1 to hit isn't needed any more.
