I am fully aware that once Oria breaks her staff she goes to a different plane but that's not the problem the problem is that she just vanishes from the game altogether.........has anybody got any idea's or know if it's a known bug??

Have you wandered around the ice temple for a while? She sometimes attacks you elsewhere than where she first disappears.

I have explored most of the temple but nothing so far, i'll keep checking but I think it's a bug and sadly the only other saved game is the prologue :(

Ah, if you've toured through most of the temple, then it's probably a bug. She should show up fairly soon after she disappears. That sucks that you don't have a more recent save. But check the autosaves. You may have one closer than the prologue.
