First, a note about terminology: when I refer to the Classic Edition (CE), I am referring to the version that isn't the Enhanced Edition (EE). I am also focusing on facts that are likely not the case for Baldur's Gate 2 Enhanced Edition.
Note that this has been tested without any mods applied to any of the games. Version 1.4 of IWD: EE is used for the tests. (Some results may differ on earlier or later versions.)
Wizard Spells:
Dispel Magic: It appears that we have the Icewind Dale version that does not require a dispel check.
Emotion: Courage: The stat bonuses do not stack (they did stack in CE), but recasting it will still restore 5 hit points. In other words, this still works as a healing spell (and for that reason, I would choose it over Emotion: Hope for a Sorcerer).
Animate Dead: Does not summon a Skeleton Warrior. Does, however, summon multiple skeletons (possibly including Skeleton Archers).
Contingency (and Sequencers): Will fail if cast by a projected image. (In BG2: CE, the game would behave badly when doing this, and might even crash, so it had to be fixed.)
Limited Wish: All effects from BG2 except for the limited wish quest are available. On Heart of Fury mode, wishing for a horde will result in a horde of rabbits with 89 HP each.
Project Image: If the image is killed, you can't create another until it wears off. Dispel Magic on the caster will allow you to summon another before then.
Wish: Seems to work as in BG2, but sometimes I get only 4 or (rarely) 3 wishes to choose from. By wishing for a potion, I was able to get a Potion of Superior Healing (which doesn't exist in CE). The Improved Alacrity wish actually gives you Improved Alacrity (unlike BG2: CE where it instead reduced casting times to 0).
Druid Spells:
Shilileagh (spelling?): The club does check weapon proficiency. (I believe it didn't in CE.)
Cure Medium Wounds: Haven't checked Clerics, but Druids have access to this spell, even though it isn't in the manual.
Call Woodland Being: On Heart of Fury Mode, the summon doesn't have as many HP as you would expect. (68, less than the Limited Wish bunnies) On the other hand, its Mass Cure Light Wounds spell will heal more (24 in my test).
Mass Cure Light Wounds: Is not capped at level 20. I saw a level 30 druid heal 33 HP with this spell. (This test is interesting because it involves a spell that is capped in BG2 and was not in IWD: CE.)
