The game starts up but the game is in the corner of my monitor and can't be moved it acts like it's in full screen but the game itself is mostly in the corner and I am unable to move it to start a new game or even load one.

I had the same issue, was easily fixed by the following:

Right click the icon in desktop;
Run as administrator.

I have the same problem, though running as adminstrator doesn't seem to fix anything for me.

Managed to solve it by making sure UAC(sp?) was inactive and that I ran the game in Windows XP compatibility mode.
