Hey everyone.

We all know that other Infinity Engine games of the past such as Baldur's Gate 2 have been impossible to play online co-op over a Windows 7 environment. I literally spent hours upon hours trying things like firewall tweaks, hamachi etc etc. only for nothing to happen. Local lan games however work fine! Anyways.

Has anyone tried the IWD2 gog version of the game as online multilayer on Windows 7? I'd love to play with my friends over the internet like the good old days :P

Thanks!
I play co-op Icewind Dale 2 with my friends and we all have windows 7. All we had to do was run it in compatibility mode for XP, also mark to run as administrator, and then run it in widowed mode. We've never had any trouble since we did that.

But I don't own the gog copy of IWD2 so I can't say about theirs.
Also don't forget to set up your port forwards! I always had problems getting these things to work over the internet, and finally got around to learning how to port forward properly. I haven't tried IWD2 TCP/IP yet, but I have Win7 and the gog version of IWD works just fine over the net for me now that I forwarded the ports properly.
Or you could skip all that hassle and just play BG2/IWD2 online using GameRanger. That's what it was designed for. :)
