I'm wondering if we will get a linux wine setup for these games. The Baldur's Gate game run wonderfully as well as Planescape:Torment. I absolutely love the Icewind dale games and would be ever grateful if we got these in a linux package!
Just installed icewind dale 2 using play on Linux, and it seems to work fine. Not sure how the wide-screen mod can be made to work with it though
The Play on Linux installer offers to download the software from gog, or you can select the files locally. So it is pretty painless.
yah, play on linux is great (its how i play the might and magic games) but the linux tarball games are convenient. So I guess I'm just lazy =D
I just installed it straight into Wine using the windows installer. There is an issue with loading the prologue text part with a custom party of more than 1 character, but you can bypass it by creating the characters, exporting them, and starting a game with 1 character and then importing the rest.
got 'em all set up in play on linux! woot woot
