I know a fair bit about D&D rules, so I don't particularly mind micromanaging my party myself, but when I noticed that you can give your team scripts to follow, I was pretty excited, as that sort of thing made Knights of The Old Republic and Dragon Age less tedious. Unfortunately, there don't seem to be any installed by default. Every character has Custom(None) selected and there aren't any other choices. Thus, with "AI On", all my characters just stand there doing nothing.

I'm currently playing this on Mac OSX Yosemite, and I'm wondering if that's the problem, since the game is all tied up in an app without a folder full of resource files. I've tried searching through my ~/Application Support/ folder for IWD stuff, since other moddable games I have tend to put a folder in there, but there's not one.

Also, knowing how games work, I know default AIs tend to be suboptimal, so I don't mind hunting for some to download that might be better, but without knowing a place on my computer to put them, I can't install them.

Am I missing something? Should there be default scripts? Where would I put them on a Mac if I wanted any?

I'm running 10.8 and am also wondering why there are no character scripts. Managing everything my party does isn't a huge deal for me either, but scripts would be nice.

In BG2 EE the scripts live in a folder called (oddly enough) "scripts" in the game's resources folder (find your game application, open package contents and it's right there Contents/Resources ). There's no corresponding folder in my copy of IWD EE so I copied the one from BG2 EE and dropped it into the IWD EE Resources folder and got the scripts to show up in-game. I haven't tested any of them in-game yet, so I don't know how well they work - for all I know they could cause all kinds of problems, but apparently the game looks for .bs scripts there. The Resources folder for IWD EE is a little buried. If you do a 'show package contents' on your game app, go to the Contents/Resources/game folder, and in that game folder you'll find another app on which you can do a 'show package contents' which you can then follow to Contents/Resources and drop a 'scripts' folder in there.
Well, I just learned something new about Mac OS. I didn't know you could open apps like that.

I guess, then, the lack of scripts is an oversight? Maybe I'll push this up the support chain. In the mean time, I'll see if I can find some scripts on the internet.

Did you try asking on the main site forum?

I forgot to get back to the forum here, but when I contacted GOG's support, I was told the developers knew it was an issue, and the latest version, which is now available here on GOG, adds scripts. Also, it apparently added music, which is nice. I guess I wasn't paying attention to that.
