I have suddenly encountered a glitch with text boxes in IWD. For some reason the game seems to be writing plus signs (+) into textfields up to the field's maximum character limit. I am unable to clear the field.

When splitting stackable items the + & - UI controls for increasing or decreasing units do not work, and attempting to input text into the field replaces the last digit with a plus sign and splits the stack by what appears to be a random amount (by my reckoning. the number of split items may be dependent on the total number of items in a stack.) I am unable to clear or change the first digit in the field.

It is doing this for the field to input character names at character generation as well. These plus signs are written into the game's text in dialog boxes, character portraits etc.

I seem to recall at one point having some mods installed. What they were I do not recall, nor do I recall uninstalling them but no mod files appear in the game's folder. I may have deleted them without uninstalling though IDK why I'd do something so stupid.

I have uninstalled IWD multiple times by now but the problem persists and I am doing so again complete with a restart of my PC beforehand. I have purged all game files except for copies of characters and saved games I'd like to keep. I am also re-downloading the installer from GoG just in case.

Any assistance correcting this issue is appreciated :)

Well my first thought was a driver issue (which is common) that requires a simple reboot, but since you say you have restarted that rules that one out. It still sounds like the familiar issue, so you may want to check, preferably replace, your keyboard and/or mouse, which could be faulty or in need of a good cleaning.

After performing the reinstall and reboot the issue is resolved. I actually hadn't performed the fix until just now. Must have been your driver issue, Hickory. Thank you :)

So a simple system reboot will suffice.
