Greetings all

Can paladins use shields? I tried equipping Pale Justice (which is a one-hander) and Argent Shield but the game won't let me. I removed equipment piece by piece and even after everything was removed I still can't equip Argent Shield.

Only elves and half-elves can use the Argent Shield I think, so that might be the problem. Substitute Waukeen's Defender if you are playing HoW instead.

Yes, paladins can use shields, but as already stated, The Argent Shield may only be wielded by Elves or Half Elves, and since a Paladin may only be human in IWD1, you will have to choose another shield.
