Hello everyone!
I finished a playthrough of HoF. I have to say, TotLM makes everything easier. You get a lot of XP, some neat items, and it sets you up psychologically for the rest of the game. I did both expansions just before I went to Dragon's Eye. After that I pretty much breezed through the game.
Trials of the Lure Master is pretty tough in Heart of Fury, but it's sort of like a rite of passage. Finish that expansion and every other battle in the game are just victories that fall onto your lap. After the expansions my party was max level - except for the fighter half of my fighter/thief. Any undead that stood up to me got smoked - and this game has *a lot* of undead.
The only difficult part of the main campaign is the final boss, and I solved that by distracting my enemies with summons, and just focus fire a single monster until it either turned it's attention towards my party or died. Also avoid the center. That's kind of important.
Edit: I forgot to mention that the monsters in the Severed Hand can be exploded by priest turning. All of them. I didn't pick up on this at first because I'm a dullard.
