Anyone ever tried the 'iconic' party through IWD 1? By this I mean the:

Dwarf FTR
Human CLC
Elf Mage
Halfling Thief

No multiclassing or dual classing. Currently have my party of 6 Hard difficulty run about half way through the Severed Hand and was thinking I may try the 'iconic' party on Hard next. Anyone done this? If so, how did it work out?

I was tossing around the idea of adding a 1/2 Elf Bard and/or a Druid (they have such nice spells) to the mix as well, but then it wouldn't exactly be the iconic party.

I may have. Why?

The 'why' was the second question: 'How did it work out?'

Did you find it was too much of a handicap with the pure classes, or did it work out okay? Was it much harder? Much easier? About the same? Was it fun, or was it just tedious?

I always play pure classes unless I have to split my Fighter/Mage for fun. So it wasn't handicapped, and it, to me, is easier then playing Multi-Class
