I remember Icewind Dale 1 having the Baldur's Gate 1 graphical style, e.g. bulky looking plate armour, the classic horned helmet and characters wielding their weapon in their right hand, even when turning around (no mirroring).
I installed IWD Classic today and noticed that it now has the Baldur's Gate 2 graphical style, same as the EE. What's up with that? Is it due to Heart of Winter being installed in unison (I thought it only changed the resolution up to 800x600 back in the day but left the graphics intact), or where does that come from?
Any help would be appreciated. It really doesn't help that Beamdog gobbled up the classic variants of the Infinity Engine games, and now it's harder to find your way around...
EDIT: From looking at screenshots of both the original vanilla IWD and IWD: HoW, it seems as though the engine changed to BG2-style (most likely to enable the higher resolution). Is there a way to play GOG's IWD Complete without Heart of Winter's changes activated? I used the forum search, there were no real answers except "maybe there's a mod", but I couldn't find any.
