As part of my ongoing project of playing catch up on all the old RPG classics I missed, I have been having quite the good time playing IWD2. It was all working well but I have hit a bug now.
My gang is charged with attacking an orc fortress, which we have nearly completed. However, one of my team is dead and the rest are badly wounded and out of spells and so nothing would suit them better than a nice rest before pushing on with the heroic quest. However, when I rest there are only ever two outcomes (1) the sleep is interrupted by wandering monsters (an occupational hazard for all dungeoneers) or (2) the game crashes.
I've tried backtracking to another map, but this still happens. I also backtracked to the section where you meet the scout who got injured exploring the area previously and ask if I can rest there, but the same result. I even went back to the base camp to rest at the inn and it crashes here too!
As I said, it worked fine up until this point so I am at a loss to think what might be the cause. If anyone has any ideas on how to fix this, I would be v grateful!
I'm running this on windows 10, if that's a factor.
