I want to replay the game by starting at Difficult: with just 1 character who gains an ally in his party every time he levels up.

I was wondering if you could suggest me an adequate level to counter the monsters, if their starting levels were like 5 or 10. Otherwise I'll have to get experimentative. Thanks!
