Seems odd that BG1, BG2 and IWD1 got the enhanced treatment while IWD2 did not.
Any insight into this?

Well, it's entirely possible they're working on it right now and just haven't announced anything yet. IWD2 is the bastard child of the Infinity Engine games, as it is the only one to use the 3rd edition ruleset, but whether that means they intend to ignore it or just leave it for last remains to be seen.

Trent Oster stated: "The move to 3rd Edition rules would invalidate all the character classes and require a pretty thorough rework of the entire game to bring in the features from our Infinity Plus Engine. At minimum, nightmares abound."

Don't bet any money on it coming out.
