I have my original install of the game, I've installed it, and it seems to work fine on my Windows 7 64-bit system I just built, although it seems to slow down when more than a couple monsters are on the screen at one time (which is silly since I'm running an i3-560, 8GB DDR3 ram, and a 9800 GT video card).

I have it running in 1280x1024 (which it marked as unsupported in the settings) with all the graphics left as default. Does the GOG version have more graphics options like openGL or higher directX support?
GOG versions only contain official patches besides necessary copy protection removal.
So if your game is working well the only benefit you'll get is that you don't have to put your disc in your drive.
Any ideas why it runs really slow when there's a lot of monsters on the screen?
Try disabling direct draw, it does the trick on my machine. If you don't know how to do it, I can send you the script.
you need to download windows Combatibility Administrator and run it on 32 bit...then go right click on the barrel and make new fix - then enter the name and path click next - skip next step - on the third step you go down to ForceDirectDrawEmulation and enable that, click next - and finished now use that to run the game

I can't find a download on the technet dev site for that Compatability Administrator, it just says to click start/programs and it's there.

Thanks
