so I bought IWD Complete today, but whenever I want to start the game I just get a black screen, the application freezes and I have to manually terminate the process via the task manager. My system is an i7 2600k@4.4 GHZ, 12 GB Ram and AMD Radeon HD 7970@1125/ 1575. As I have already mentioned, my OS is Windows 8. Any idea how to get this game working? (actually this would be GOGs job because on the product page it says that the game works on Windows 8)

I've installed and played IWD Complete on Windows 8 64Bit a few hours ago. I don't think Windows 8 is the problem.

Are your Drivers, Graphic, Sound... are up to date?
Have you tried the Game without over clocking

Thanks for the reply, but I managed to resolve the issue now. The problem was that I didn't enable OpenGL in the config tool. It seems that the game just refuses to start if you're trying to play without 3d acceleration.

Yea I had the same problem in Windows 7, searched for hours for an answer and all I had to do was check a box...
