Heads up for anyone thinking of purchasing this game, its nothing like Icewind Dale 1, there is no zoom available so its reduced to trying to figure out whats happening around your characters.

Icewind Dale 1 was a excellent game and I was hoping to find something along the same lines, but the sequel is dire.

Btw, you are mixing a lot of things. Original IWD1 didn't have zoom feature either. You probably played the EE.

IWD1 and 2 are different games. IWD1 is based on D&D2,5 while IWD2 is 3.0. That makes them completely different in the playstyle. This maybe the reason why you are having trouble. IWD2 is more like the Neverwinter Nights series.

IWD 2 on modern screens look pretty zoomed in already, seeing how stretched out it is. There's no need for it.

Just use the widescreen mod along with UI fix and the problem with stretched image will be gone:
