I think it's great that GOG has released Icewind Dale 2, one of my favorite PC games ever. So great is my love for this game that I have decided, in order to get more people to play/finish it, I've decided to create a challenge/contest. Here goes:

ICEWIND DALE 2: TRULY OUTRAGEOUS

Rules/Description

CHEAT CONSOLE
No!

CHARACTER CREATION
No characters may have attributes of less than 6.

CHARACTER BIOS
Every character has to have a viable Forgotten Realms biography. Make sure your character names aren't stupid. [Why? See prize.]

DIRECTIONS/GOAL
The goal is simple: get as many valuable stones and gems as possible. Fill up your inventory slots and gem bags. Then send your end-game saved game or comprehensive screenshots to me at zach[dot]holbrook[at]gmail.com by New Year's Eve 2010. The winner who has the biggest collection of gems in terms of quantity *and* value (don't sell those diamonds!) wins. Jewelry and magical items don't count. Just gems: simple, unadorned, reflecting the cold sunlight of a midwinter's day in Kuldahar.

PRIZE
You get a mention on my blog? Also, I include your party leader as a minor character in the mod I may some day, in one of many possible futures, make? But beside these very considerable prizes, you win, and that's the best prize of all.
