playing Icewind Dale 2 for the first time, and in the prologue. I have found a weapon that is called Heart of Landeril, its a longsword, but what I don't get is that my lead character is a level 3 Human Fighter named Landeril.

Have you got the GOG version?
Cause in my game that weapon was called the Heart of Bob

Yeah. I do. I just wondered if it was some weird glitch
The sword is actually named "Heart of <CHARNAME>." <CHARNAME> is an Infinity engine message tag for the main character. However, because IWD2 is technically multiplayer-based even on single-player (because they're all PCs), you can get some funny effects with it.

For example, buy the sword, put it on your first character. It'll be "Sword of Char1." Now initiate dialog with someone using your second character. The name of the sword will change to "Sword of Char2." That's because the "current" <CHARNAME> is the one who interacted with an object or NPC most recently.

That said, it's a good sword even if the name changes around, and there's a vastly improved version in HoF mode. It's supposed to be a leftover from your future self after the game's been finished, or something.

Is it better then a +5 longsword?
The HoF version is a +5 longsword with +2 STR, +2 DEX, +25 hitpoints, permanent haste, and permanent Freedom of Movement. You can only get it in HoF mode, though, obviously, or through the console. The old one won't change, either, it's just that the HoF version is sold in the store instead of the regular version for HoF games.

I am playing regular with a human fighter, aasimir paladin, human ranget, moon elf wizard, halfling rogue and elf cleric. All equipped with +5 weapons
