Hey there :)

My problem is basically as in the subject line. I have faint squares over everything.

I have the NPC, Widescreen and Tweaks installed. I didn't try the game prior to installing the mods. I haven't reinstalled yet either. So basically I'm an idiot.

Has anyone else had this problem?

Win7 Professional x64
GT 8800 - latest drivers.

In-game, there are several graphical options for technical things that take more processor, but are less prone to glitches like this. If you haven't yet, try checking a couple of those boxes. I haven't had this particular issue, but it might help.

"Run as administrator" helped me, too, but my issue was different - it just crashed after the intro, but now it runs great.
I can confirm this was the same for me last night on my dell e6500 laptop with windows xp last night.

Anytime a speech bubble from an npc came up, there was a black window over a much larger portion of the screen then the text needed.

I also have those mods installed...
