I'm kind of new to GOG and was wondering how game updates work. In my account section, it says that Icewind Dale: Enhanced Edition was updated but I don't see any patch files or instructions in there. How do I update the game? Do I have to re-download and re-install the whole game?

The update may refer to new wallpapers being added, not necessarily the game itself. Maybe Linux installer was added for instance. GOG gives a patch when there's an update and eventually updates the installers itself so the patch is no longer needed.

Ok, I see. Thanks for clarifying that up for me. :)

It used to note which installer/patch was updated, but that seems broken for now. Supposedly it even noted which extras, but I don't recall ever seeing that personally. If you aren't sure what updated you can check The "what did just update?" thread or the specific game sub-forum for any new sticky posts.
