I remember years ago attending a LAN party at a friends house. We started to play Icewind Dale and while everyone was taking forever to roll characters. I was new to the game like everyone else, but knew enough that rolling characters wasn't very fun. I decide to import a character from a previous game. She was a wizard, not sure what I named her.

Anyways, after what must have been hours of rolling, everyone is satisfied with their numbers and we're in the game. A few minutes into the game, we start fighting the goblins outside of the starting town. Again, still pretty new to the game, I cast burning hands behind my party. They die and everyone becomes furious.

They get up from their seats, pick me up and threaten to throw me into a pond. After some squarming I manage to get free.

I guess the moral of this story is always export your characters and fucking burning hands.
Lol - indeed a funny story. And true: Export your Characters.
Icewind Dale is one of the best Dungeon Romps (and one of the few) of the late 90s.
