I'm not sure if this has been mentioned or done. I was playing a fighter/thief, paladin, pure thief, and bard. While i used my pure thief to scout ahead, i have my fighter/thief come in uninvisible and draw the enemy's attention to him. While that happens my bard shoots at the archers and my paladin engages the infantry along with my fighter/thief. This is where it gets interesting. My pure rogue sneak attacks the goblin my fighter/thief is fighting, he turns around to fight my rogue. Then my fighter/thief sneak attacks the same goblin, killing him in the process. I repeat the process while my paladin tanks and my bard snipes.

This tactic has saved my ass numerous times in the beginning of the game, especially against the ogre. Because the enemy really cant do anything to defend against it, it saves battles almost if you time it right.
