Well, with regards to IWD2 Rogues my biggest complaint is how they unnecessarily nerfed the sneak attack rules. The 3rd edition sneak attack conditions are much easier to satisfy, but deal far less damage than their AD&D counterparts. Overall this was a good move: Rogues can be relevant in more situations, but their damage is also much more reasonable in their best-case. For some unfathomable reason, the developers of IWD2 coded the sneak attack rules so you can't get more than one against the same enemy, defeating the entire point of the ability and nerfing the poor rogue into the ground. It might have been excusable if the game made more extensive use of the skill system, but it doesn't so the rogue's advantage in the skills department means very little if anything. It's easily the worst class in the game. I just can't see taking 10 levels in Rogue in IWD2; the class is just too weak due to this nerf.

Rogues definitely have it a lot better in the NWN series and ToEE, and is one of my favorite classes in those games. The exclusive feats at higher levels are just icing on the cake; the ability to chain off multiple sneak attacks, evasion, the oodles of skill points, and use magic device means the class has me completely sold by 2nd level.
