Just beat Icewind Dale for the first time, having worked on AIs for my characters along the way. If you want to try them, go to filedropper and look for spiritguidedruid, spiritguidefighter, spiritguidethief, spiritguidewizard, and spiritguidecleric.

The scripts don't handle potions or wands (just sold them), thieving abilities (waited until after battle), or hotkeys (don't know how to do that). There are probably more sophisticated programs out there, these are what worked for my party though. Move your party in a group until an enemy is sighted and then hit the AI button.

I'm not entirely sure I understand; how exactly do these scripts work?
When you install Icewind Dale from GOG, there will be a Scripts folder. In my case, this is C:/GOG Games/Icewind Dale Complete/Scripts. You should see a bunch of AI scripts already there, with the extension .bs, like Thief1.bs, Thief2.bs, etc. that come with the game. Place the new .bs files into the folder, and they will be selectable as AIs for your characters when you are in the game, from each individual character screen.
