My roommate and I bought and installed IWD2. We want to play over TCP/IP but when we select that mode and try to start a game it crashes before creating a game. We are both running Windows 7 and can play the game single player just fine.

Not sure how to fix the in-game multiplayer issue you're having, but have you checked out something like GameRanger? Many people seem to have good luck with that for their multiplayer Infinity Engine games.

The crash issue happens with all Infinity engine games. The only way around it is to click New Game while running the game in windowed mode.

I definitely second the recommendation for GameRanger. Works perfectly for us in IWD1. We're starting IWD2 tonight!

An update for anyone that sees this. Use gameranger. Easy set up and you're good to go. I could NOT get this to run using the wide screen mod though...it won't allow the game to run in windowed mode..
