It seems that you're using an outdated browser. Some things may not work as they should (or don't work at all).

It may be a rather noob question, but I have to admit I'm at a loss.

If download a mod for IWD2 from a site like Sorcerer's Place, how do I then install and run the mod?

Thanks in advance.

Shouldn't there be install/use instructions that come with the mod?

That would seem to make the most sense.

Yes there probably should, but there isn't always.
Some just assume you know what to do.

What mod have you downloaded?
Any mod that is uses WeiDU (and that is pretty much everything you get from Sorceres Palace or G3) will have some type of instructions. Generally, you just drop the unzipped file into the IE game directory then run the executable. The issue gets when you are doing a bunch of different mods and you need a specific order, but there are lots of order lists on those sites.
I downloaded the Custom DLL Fixes and Changes (from Sorc's Place) in the hopes of getting rid of favored class so that I could mutliclass without a penalty. I ran the .exe, but when I chose the "Crack it" option to install, it gives me the following:

" performing crc-check..............
failed!

PATCH WAS NOT APPLIED! "

I've been over the .txt notepad file that came with it, yet I can't find a solution. Is GOG's version unable to be patched, or is there something I'm missing?

Sorry for the long wait in reply, btw.

The Custom DLL fixes and changes mod doesn't work with the GOG version, it only works with a totally unmodified CD .exe. The guy who wrote it is aware of this, but he hasn't updated it yet... which is a shame because it makes several major improvements.
So it's as I suspected.

Thank you.
