I've tried starting the game twice with whoever the ape-looking guy is. When I load a save though, he's completely disappeared and nothing happens when I click on stuff. Any ideas?I can only watch that scene where the woman barfs food into your mouth so many times...

I had the same issue and had to reload from an earlier save. You might just have to start over. Fortunately, it's easy to get back to where you were once you know what to do, but yeah, this game is pretty sloppily coded, when you get right down to it.

I heard saving the broken file and reloading it can fix the issue. Also, Benny's scenario really has a few problems in regards of saving,.

Anyway, I had the same problem but I always made a new file after beating a character's scenario.

Got through Benny's chapter in one go, and the second character SEEMS to be working fine. Guess part of AM's torture was screwing with his saves...

If you don't want to start over you can try to do this:
1/load the buggy savefile,
2/then do another save and load this one.

The character should reappears (at least it worked for me with Benny's quest).
