I picked up... something in a locked room. The game told me to go home to change gear; at least, I think that's what it said, the message didn't stay up too long. I've tried going back to the starting area, but damned if I can figure out what I need to do.

Also, has anyone else run into those tiles that flame on when you touch them? I've run into a few paths that seem to require jumping from tile to tile in order to get to some upgrade material, but I can't make it one or two tiles without taking damage. Do I just need to 'git gud' or is there something that I am missing? I saw something about a dodge upgrade back at the village, thought that might be what I needed, but it is so expensive...

EDIT: I figured out how to swap out the outfit. Still having trouble with the fire tiles even after getting that upgrade. It's a dead useful upgrade when it works, and I suspect it might be the key, but man the timing needed to get the thing to work at all is a pain to figure out.

You're talking about in the East section of the game? I haven't tried the one you're talking about, but I do have the upgrade. I would say you need to practice the upgrade more. I'm gonna go back to this place and try it for myself. I'll record it too.

EDIT:
Here is me trying to do it. I get it around 2:09.

I did finally use the upgrade to get those upgrade points; I still got hurt a bunch, but I was able to cut down on damage enough for my stash of health packs to see me through. I was able to work out the timing for activating the upgrade in the training room without moving the mouse; in the field while trying to move around under fire is a different matter, though. Contemplating giving in and making a macro of spamming drift.
