HAVING TROUBLE STARTING THE GAME? READ!!
A handful of players are having trouble getting the game to start up. Based on reports, it usually boots to a black or white screen and just seems to hang there forever. Or, it makes it to the title screen, but the screen looks glitched and you can't interact with it. If you are experiencing this issue, I am very sorry for the inconvenience.
So far, there doesn't seem to be any huge rhyme or reason as to why it is occurring, but, it does appear to be a lot more common on older, less powerful machines. That said, as long as your computer meets the system requirements listed on the Steam store page, you should be able to play it.
I will continue to investigate this issue and I hope to have it resolved as soon as possible. I have some ideas on how I can optimize performance, which may be a big help. In the meantime, you may want to try these troubleshooting steps to see if it helps:
1. Completely uninstall and reinstall the game. This is honestly unlikely to help a whole lot, but I have seen it fix the issue for a couple people.
2. Your save file may have somehow been corrupted when it was being created, so try deleting it. On most versions of Windows you will find the save file located in "C:/Users/*username*/AppData/LocalLow/HuniePot/HuniePop 2 - Double Date/" where "*username*" is, well, your username on the computer. "AppData" is normally a hidden folder, so you may have to browse to this location manually by typing it into the explorer bar. The file is called "HP2SaveData1.dat". Delete it, and then try starting the game. On Mac the save file is located in "/Users/*username*/Library/Application Support/com.HuniePot.HuniePop2-DoubleDate/".
3. If you have access to a different computer, try playing it on that. A machine with higher specs seems much less likely to encounter this issue.
4. If all else fails, I would welcome you to refund the game, get your money back, and check back in the very near future for an update where this issue may be completely resolved.
Thank you and as always I very much appreciate your patience and help in getting technical issues resolved.
