TLDR,
HuniePop 2 GOG version is the only version that needs the de-censor patch. Version in EVERY other store doesn't need it, it just contains in-game censored/uncensored switch.

NOTE - please read BEFORE accessing link below:
You have to manually copypaste the link. If you merely click it it will guide you to LIVE page and NOT archived one.
That is due to problem with GOG forum software.
It either
1.Cripples specifically archive-org/webarchive links
2.Or it cuts everything before last https.
I don't know which one it is but it's a fact that this happens.
So make sure you copy paste the archive org link.

SOMETIMES the second 'https' in archive org link causes issues for SOME people ( for me usually NOT ).

I have a question. I don't have the game yet (only the first one), so I can't check.

Isn't this patch just an empty file? This was the case in Huniepop 1, so instead of downloading it, you could simply create it.

No, the file size is 2MB. And you don't have to have the game to download the patch. :>

Bumping for visibility. The patch stickied at the top of the forum is for HP1, not Double Date. That wasn't immediately obvious to me, maybe others will be confused too.

I live in Germany, have been trying to apply the patch for it to work but nothing seems to be working. I have the data pack in my applications folder where the game is, this does nothing . and when I try to drag and drop into the game file itself the game open and says "The document “HP2SteamyPatch (3).dat” could not be opened. HuniePop 2 - Double Date cannot open files of this type."

can anyone help me, I've been trying for 30 min at this point

First you have to rename the file to "HP2SteamyPatch.dat" (without the quotes) and then place it alongside the “HuniePop 2 - Double Date.app” file inside the game's installation folder.

can this be done on Mac 10.12 because I'm having trouble finding the directory or the exe. file ?

The official faq (the one I linked in the OP post) says the patch is platform universal, and here's excerpt about Mac:

All you have to do is download the external uncensor patch file below and place it in the same location/directory on your computer where the game executable file is

You can try searching for that file by some automated tools you have at your disposal.
I don't personally use Macs and I have no idea about folder/file structure for this game for that platform.
So unfortunatelly I cannot help you or ANYONE that asks about Mac for that matter.
