Does anyone know how to fix this? I'm quite disappointed, as from searching here and in the other game shoppe forums it appears as though most people have no issue running the native Linux version of the game.

I installed via the install script, first chmod to allow execution.

When I try to launch, a black screen pops up for a fraction of a second then disappears, with the following error message given:

Running Human Resource Machine
support/gog_com.shlib: line 94: 157592 Segmentation fault (core dumped) ./"${bin_64}"

I noticed an early post here about some kind of wrapper script "play.it", but they only give instructions for arch and debian installation, and there's nothing relevant on the GOG support page for Human Resource Machine.

Thanks

I suggest moving the game/lib64 directory out of the way, so that your system openal and SDL2 libraries are used.

Thanks, I'll give that a shot!
