I believe it actually is using the windows versions through scummvm. You get the sound effects that the windows verisons have, plus the drop down menus, based on the windows menu system. However, the scummvm menu aesthetics leave a lot to be desired.

The windows 3.1 files themselves do not work as they are 16 bit, and need to be run within 3.1 dosbox.
