I love the game and it works perfectly on my normal PC but not on my older Notebook Thinkpad R400, Core2Duo T6670, Mobile Intel® 4 Series Express Graphics, 4GB RAM from 2008.

Maybe Windows 10 shouldn't be the prefered OS for this machine but it works good. I had some issues with 3D drivers in the beginning, Windows 10 only offers a generic driver which supports OpenGL 1.1 but the chipset supports OpenGL 2, if not 3. I could fix it with a custom driver "Intel HD Graphics Family Extreme Plus by nIGHTmAYOR" and most of the games now work.

Back to HROT: when opening the game, the mouse pointer disappears and the Icon is shown in the taskbar - thats it. I can close it with Alt-F4 then.

Maybe this is fixable, I can provide more information if needed.

I know it's been a while since you posted this and maybe you've already resolved this issue. Anyway, I want to leave my two cents here... Well, I have a 12 year old potato laptop that has the same Intel HD Graphics (version 1000) as your laptop, with the exception that mine came with a i5-480M 2.67 GHz, 4GB of RAM (DDR3) and Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit.

Getting straight to the point... HROT worked like a charm in the default settings, through Software rendering. I had no delays or unexpected crashes (AppCrash). I was even impressed! Because I installed it thinking it wouldn't open. This was all tested in the latest offline installer "1.1b".

I hope my report helps other potato owners who are unsure whether HROT will run or not.

Edit: I'm just editing to mention that I have the official Intel video driver installed. Maybe your problem could have been Windows 10 (known to be problematic with most games) or this unofficial display driver "Intel HD Graphics Family Extreme Plus by nIGHTmAYOR".
