I will see that coming too!
I want it too!
Dear Spytihnev,

thanks for that great game.

Please please make a Linux Port.

Unfortunately HROT runs like a Slideshow on Linux.

Well, actually it runs fine for some seconds, then it's a slideshow. You stand still or open the console, and it might be running great again.

Maybe it's just some minor Wine tweak i'm missing?
Someone got it to work on Wine?

I finished the game on Linux with zero issues. I used Bottles to run it with, I think, the Wine GE runner. Other than that I can't really help you, but it did work for me.

WINE SLOWDOWN FIX BELOW:

Thanks for the info. I tried with Bottles and Wine GE and 100 different settings.

fsync seemed to help (or placebo), and wine-ge seemed also a bit faster than my normal wine installation.

But since it seemed that those slowdowns only appeared when theres' cpu heavy stuff (lot of flying grenades, shattered objects, ...) and even smaller desktop resolutions made ZERO difference, i looked further into CPU/scheduling problems.

And see: if i use `taskset -c 0 wine` or `taskset -c 0 bottles`, it's 90% fixed.

The multiple seconds long slowdowns are now only microstutters with which i can live.
