Anyone know where the files containing saved games is located? Other places say "saves.dat" but I think that's for the steam version.
This question / problem has been solved by cichimage
I was transferring the saves from one PC to another and these were the files that I took from the game folder (I'm not sure if they are all needed):

saves.dat
skip
stats.sav
mask.nfo
tempsave.sav

I don't see any of those files in the place I'm looking (C:/Program Files (x86)/GOG.com/Hotline Miami), so I must be in the wrong directory. Where did you find those files?
I have them in the game folder, but I'm on WinXP.

Maybe they are in your My Documents folder? Search it for the 'mask.nfo' - I doubt there's any other file of that name on your PC.

Found it, thanks!
When I uninstalled game and choose to save my gamesave these are the files that left:

achievements.dat
bgm_error.log
filelisting.txt
mask.nfo
saves.dat
stats.sav
tempsave.sav
volume.dat

It's little bit more then what cich wrote but all files are small (all of them = 342 KB) so i guess it's better to save more then cry later ;)
I can't find the files whether in the game directory or in My Documents folder :(

Just do a search of the whole C: for one of the file names. If you didn't delete them during uninstall, they surely must be somewhere.

They might be there: C:/Users/[Your profile name]/AppData/Local/VirtualStore/Program Files/HotlineMiami

Thank you very much. They were in the hidden AppData directory.
Why not put the save files in a separate folder, seems like a chore and makes it unable to use your own "cloud" saving. :/
