I'm experiencing massive slowdowns in Hotline Miami. Theres no stutter or anything, just everything is at around 1/2 speed. The way it is now, the game is unplayable for me :-/.
These are my specs:
Windows 7 Pro / 64 Bit
Intel Core i3-2370M 2.4 GHz
Intel HD Graphics 3000
4GB Ram
Before you go telling me my machine is too weak - it runs perfectly at time (rarely and non-reproducable), indepent of current level / number of enemies or anything. Strangely, until I arrived in level 9, everything worked at the correct speed, but now every level is (normally) in slomo mode - even AFTER deleting the savegame. The slowdown seems to be typically worse in certain areas (for example, level 9, Crackdown).
What I already tried:
- Surfaces off with Clear Blood on/off
- Disabling Desktop Composition
- Disabling Visual Designs
- Running as Administrator
- Win XP SP3 Compatibilty Mode
- Updating Graphic Drivers / DirectX / .NET to their recent versions
- Forcing VSync via graphic driver settings (disabling it afterwards)
- Switching resolution before and during game
- Reducing Resolution to 640x480 (NO improvement at all)
- Disabling the Printer Spooler service
- Deleting savegames, starting anew
- Running with power cable plugged in
- Tried version 2.0.0.4 (GOG), 2.0.1.5 (GOG), 1.0.1.6 (Steam), 1.0.0.0 (Steam)
- Various combinations of the above
- Some stuff that I forgot
